Held on 22 November 2019, the Travel Agent Industry Forum (TAIF) is an annual industry event, co-organised by the Singapore Tourism Board and NATAS (National Association of Travel Agents Singapore), to provide travel agents with networking opportunities, and updates on the initiatives and outcomes from the Travel Agent Roadmap. The Roadmap consists of a suite of initiatives to support travel agents in the areas of Business Transformation, Manpower and Technology.

A series of breakout sessions were organised during the 2019 TAIF with topics that ranged from online product distribution, manpower development, understanding customer needs to future trends transforming the industry.

Moderated by Ashlynn Loo, Deputy Director of Singapore Tourism Board, the session ‘From Offline to Online Key to Better Distribution’ was a panel that examined the benefits of multiple sales channels, the importance of technology, the personal experience of a Singapore tour operator and more.

The panel dives into today’s traveller expectations for booking tours and activities, how important it is to facilitate last minute bookings, the advantages of using multiple sales channels, how online travel agents target their consumers, gathering data analytics, and more.
