Experience a river cruise at the Mekong Delta River, Vietnam countryside with rivers, swamps, and islands. It is home to floating markets, pagodas, and villages surrounded by rice paddies. During this tour, an English speaking guide will take you through the narrow canals of Mekong Delta and tell you about their local traditions as you meet some of the villagers.

Mekong Delta produces about half of the total of Vietnam's agricultural output. You will pass by timeless sceneries of farmers planting or harvesting rice. The river splits in Cambodia into two main rivers, the Bassac and the First River, then in Vietnam it separates into a maze of small canals, rivers, and arroyos with villages and floating markets surrounding them. Pretty much life in this province revolves around the river. Interestingly, all the villages are accessible by river and road. During the Lunar New Year and the Mid-Autumn Festival, you will witness the villagers setting hundreds of candles on their way on the river on as many tiny skiffs (a shallow, flat-bottomed open boat with sharp bow and square stern).

In Chau Doc, you will ride a bike on the dirt tracks passing by the green paddy fields and farms. See plenty of floating markets along the river. After biking along the village, devour a sumptuous picnic breakfast and commune with nature. You may learn a little bit of Vietnamese or Khmer language since most of the villagers speak their local language. Take a stroll at the flower gardens of Sa Dec where you will see different flowers like dahlias, hydrangeas, orchids, and African marigolds. You may possibly meet Buddhist nuns at the Buddhist Nuns Monastery of Phuoc Hue. Learn about traditional herbal and medicine in Nha Man and take a trip to Phnom Penh where there are cultural and historical attractions like temples and museums. On the third day, go on a speedboat cruise to Phnom Penh before the end of the three day tour.
