Ayutthaya is a charming city in Thailand which was the capital of the Kingdom of Siam. It was a glorified city and a prosperous trading port back in the days--until the Burmese destroyed the city in the 18th century. Now it forms the Ayutthaya Historical Park which is an archaeological site where there are several royal palaces, Buddhist temples, historical statues, and monasteries.

You will be fetched from the hotel and an English speaking tour guide will bring you to the first itinerary in Ayutthaya. Onboard a bus, first stop is the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace (also called as Bang Pa-In Royal Palace) built by King Prasat Thong. It was where the Siamese royalty and their consorts used to reside. You will see most of the buildings are inspired by European-style architecture as you take a stroll at the magnificent sprawling gardens. Check out Phra Thinang Wehart Chamrun's Chinese inspired interiors of the palace which has gold, silver and porcelain ornaments, ebony furnishings, ornamental tiles, and red interior. You will also see an intricately carved camel bone dragon.

Next stop is Wat Phanan Choeng Worawihan. Check out the majestic 19 metre tall Buddha called Phra Buddha Trirattana Nayok from 1334 CE at the assembly hall. The statue is regarded as a guardian for mariners. You will also see a talipot fan and two statues of disciples sitting on the right and left sides of the Buddha. After the tour, you will be brought back to the hotel.
