Trek for 11 days starting at the base camp of the world’s highest mountain located at the World Heritage Site of Sagarmatha National Park, Mt. Everest. It is 8,848 metres above sea level. Its Sanskrit name is Sagarmatha means Peak of Heaven. Its Tibetan name is Chomolungma, meaning Goddess Mother of the World or Goddess of the Valley. It was originally referred to as Peak XV but it was renamed for Sir George Everest, a British surveyor general of India from 1830 to 1843. Mt. Everest is located in the Mahalangur mountain range in Nepal and Tibet.

The entire tour is for 15 days including the activities in between such as meals, transfers, rest periods, etc. You will see Sherpa villages and Buddhist monasteries along the way as you hike up the Himalayan range. Have an amazing view of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhoste, Mt. Mhera, and other surrounding peaks. The Everest Base Camp trek begins as you take a flight at Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla. Upon arrival at the Sagarmatha National Park you will ascend to Namche Bazaar which is the capital of the Sherpas. See the Sherpa village, its culture and monasteries; the mountaineers; and wild life museums.

At the beginning and the last day of the entire tour you will stay at a lodge within the area but during the trek up the mountain, you will be staying at guest houses along the way. You will have rest days in between to get used to the altitude. Moreover, you will eat meals at the lodge at the beginning and end of the tour but all meals in between will be at the pit stops during your trek. Expect the walking time for trekking is between five to seven hours. You will ascend the mountain once or twice a day between 1,336 metres to 5,160 metres depending on the stop.

Upon trekking, you will pass through the verdant alpine flora and fauna; wildlife; glacial rivers and waterfalls; stony trails; and Buddhist monasteries. You will continue as you reach the famous vantage point of Kala Patthar where a magnificent 360 degree view awaits you. Once you reach the Everest Base Camp, you will descend to Lukla and take the return flight back to Kathmandu.

Tour Schedule: After a hearty breakfast, we take you on a tour of the attractions of Kathmandu Valley, including three World Heritage Sites. We first visit Swayambunath Stupa, also known as The Monkey Temple, said to be more than 2,000 years old. It lies on top of a small hill overlooking the valley. The tour also includes the Buddhist pilgrimage destination of Boudhanath Stupa, crowded with devotees, and the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath. Pashupatinath is on the banks of the Bagmati River and is a cremation ground as well as an important center of activity during festivals.

Day 3 (08:00:00 - 18:00:00)

Kathmandu- Lukla - Phakding 2,600m, 3hrs walking

Your day will start very early today as most flights to Lukla are scheduled for the early morning hours. Be ready to wait at the airport as your flight can be delayed due to weather. The flight is approximately 25 minutes and the landing at Lukla airport is very dramatic. After a brief stop at Lukla, set off on your hike to Phakding. Past Lukla, descend to Chaurikharka and continue on a fairly level trail to Choplung. Continue on a descending trail to Ghat. There is a monastery, numerous prayer wheels, mani stones, and a chorten at Ghat. Whenever possible, please remember to turn all prayer wheels in a clockwise direction and to walk on the left side of shrines and manes (i.e. keeping these sacred objects to your right. From Ghat, it is approximately 20 minutes to Phakding.

Day 4 (08:00:00 - 18:00:00)

The day's trail follows the Dudh Koshi until you begin your ascent to Namche. Pass several villages to Monju. Before reaching Monju is the village of Chumoa where in the 1970's, an eccentric but creative Mr. Hagayuki lived without a visa for almost 10 years, farming and running the Hatago Lodge, before being deported. Just beyond Monju is the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park where your park permit will be checked. Depending on the time you reach this point, lunch will be either at Monju or the village of Jorsalle inside the park.

Past Jorsalle, the trail follows the Dudh Koshi and crosses it only to recross it at the base of the hill which climbs up to Namche. The climb is long and steep. The switchback trail is well-worn and wide through a pleasant pine forest.


Day 5 (10:00:00 - 17:00:00)

Today is an acclimatization day. You are free to visit the National Park Museum or wonder around Namche town.

Day 6 (08:00:00 - 18:00:00)

Namche- Tengboche 3,870m, 5hrs walking

Climb to the top of Namche Bazaar, and then walk on a fairly level trail to Kenjuma and Sanasa. Here there are extensive displays of souvenirs to tempt you. Bargaining is very much in order. The trail descends to Dudh Koshi which must be crossed to reach Phungi Tenga. There is a now deserted army post here. Past this point, the trail ascends to Tengboche monastery through conifer and rhododendrons forests. Visit Tengboche monastery in the evening or watch the setting sun cast its last rays over Everest if the skies are clear. There is also an eco-centre with historical and cultural exhibits in the monastery compound. If monks are performing prayer ceremonies when you visit, please do not take flash photos or otherwise disturb the ceremonies.

Tengboche - Dingboche 4,360m 5 hrs walking

Tengboche Monastery with Mt. Thamserku in the backgroundFrom Tengboche, the trail descends steeply to the small village of Debuche, where quietly tucked away in the trees is a nunnery. Well past Debuche, cross the Imja Khola and climb to the village of Pangboche. Past Pangboche, the trail climbs to Shomare and then to Orsho on a shelf above the river. Beyond Orsho, the trail divides, the left leads to Pheriche and the right to Dingboche. We will take the trail to Dingboche in the Imja valley.

From today, you will start to notice the change in the landscape. Forests give way to arid landscape with shrubs.


Day 8 (08:00:00 - 18:00:00)

Around Dingboche

This is the day of your second acclimatization and it requires about 4 hours of trekking to an altitude of 5100m Call Nagerjun hill. The main aim is to climb high and sleep low .The foot path become vertical at times, follow-on in an actually challenging day–climbing the hill could take up to 4 hours at altitude. From the top, there are so many magnificent good views of Lobuche East (6,119m), Lobuche West (6,145m), Taboche Peak (6,367m), Thamserku (6,608m), Kangtega (6,685m) and Ama Dablam (6,856m). If it's a clearer day, you can even see Mt. Makalu, this is the world’s fifth highest mountain, together with great views of the low land valley while after heading from the top it takes 2 more hours back to dingboche. Then after lunch, you are supposed to take a well deserve rest and afternoon temperatures could drop rapidly as the sun sets over the mountain tops.

Day 9 (08:00:00 - 18:00:00)

Dingbouche- Lobuche 4,930m 5hrs walking

Begin easy walking around 3 hours to reach Thukla and Climb directly up the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier into an area dedicated to climbers who have perished on Khumbu's mountains. Past this point, it is a very gradual incline to Lobuche. After you have settled in at your lodge, you are welcome to visit the various memorials to those who have perished on Everest or hike up one of the ridges above the village for excellent views of Nuptse and Lhotse.

Day 10 (08:00:00 - 18:00:00)

Lobuche- Gorakshep 5,160m-Everest Base camp-Gorakshep 7 hrs walking

Another short trek day. Begin the climb today by ascending gently through meadows in the Khumbu valley. Then cross several steep moraines while also walking on an active glacier. Gorakshep is situated on a sandy and flat section that served as base camp for the 1952 Swiss Everest expedition. Continue to Everest Base Camp and return to Gorakshep.

Day 11 (08:00:00 - 18:00:00)

Gorakshep – kalapatter –Feriche 4,280m, 6 hrs walking

Sunrise over Mt. Nuptse (Everest is the peak in the middle).
The trek to Kalapathar (18,195 ft.) is the final high-altitude climb of this trip, as a result of which you will perhaps achieve the highest reward for your perseverance. The trail ascends steeply to Kala-Pathar, but the view from here is one you are unlikely to forget. Return to Gorakshep and descend to Feriche.

This day trek will going Easy walk along the Imja Khola, little climb toTengboche, go down Pungki Thanka and totally steep to Kyangjuma, and easy and flat walk Namche.

Namche- lukla 2,600 m, 6 hrs walking

The trail continue along the Dudh Kosi River to the small mountain airfield.

At Lukla, there you will take your return flight to Kathmandu.

This day trek will going Easy walk along the Imja Khola, little climb toTengboche, go down Pungki Thanka and totally steep to Kyangjuma, and easy and flat walk Namche.

Namche- lukla 2,600 m, 6 hrs walking

The trail continue along the Dudh Kosi River to the small mountain airfield.

At Lukla, there you will take your return flight to Kathmandu.


Day 14 (08:00:00 - 17:00:00)
Accommodation: Standard - Hotel Access Nepal, Kathmandu
Lukla- Kathmandu

Fly back to Kathmandu with wonderful scenic views of Himalayas it takes 30 minutes flight.

Transfer to Kathmandu’s international airport for final departure home.
