Explore Asakusa, an old city in Japan instead of the usual modern skyscrapers, anime, and shopping destinations most go to. Before Tokyo was known as such, it was formerly named as Edo which was a small castle town during the 16th century. It used to be the political center of the oriental country in 1603 when Tokugawa Ieyasu established the feudal government. Several decades later, it grew to the now known fast-paced progressive cities in the whole world after the emperor and the capital was moved from Kyoto to Edo, thus renamed as Tokyo (or the eastern capital).

After the pick up from the hotel, the first stop with the tour guide is at Asakusa, an old city which was formerly Tokyo's leading entertainment district where kabuki theaters, red light district, and movie theaters was built during the Edo period. However, these were destroyed during the World War II. Upon exploring the area, see the Sensoji Temple which is a well known Buddhist temple built during the 7th century. It was destroyed during the war but was rebuilt afterwards. Sadly, the glory days of Asakusa was not the same as before. Next stop, shop at Nakamise and Dempoin streets where you will find a wide variety of local snacks and unique souvenirs you can bring home after the tour. You will be brought back to the hotel after the entire tour.
